Head Start Parents/Guardians,
We have had a very busy week at United Community Action Partnership (UCAP) Head Start developing plans for Remote Family and Educational services. Teachers, Home Visitors, and Family Service Workers have been working on ways to connect with their students and families. We have also been working at ways to get meals, supplies for basic needs, and educational supplies to families. We have been working out plans on utilizing technology to enhance remote family services and your child’s education.
On Monday March 30, the UCAP Head Start program will begin remote family services and child education. This will continue through May 4, 2020. Your child’s teacher or home visitor will be in contact with you to provide you with scheduling remote instruction and how that will work for your family.
Family Service Workers and Home Visitors will be contacting you to see if you need assistance in accessing internet services, have not been able to connect with free meal services offered by your local school district, need diapers for your enrolled Head Start child, need formula, athome educational supplies, and other basic needs.
Parents are essential to their child’s learning and development, now more than ever. We are here to support your family in whatever the needs are. We value your engagement with your child’s learning and Head Start experience and will continue to offer educational instruction to your child remotely.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns,
Dr. Mary Lockhart Findling
